Now that I get to slow down, sit still and reflect, I begin to realize just how sovereign God is, just how intricate his plan for my life is. Bit by bit, one by one, slowly but surely He strips away the things that I turn to for comfort, fulfillment, satisfaction - to show me that He is all that I have, all that I need.
See, it's funny (and sad at the same time) that as humans, we can't let go of our lives (and surrender) until we come to grips with the reality and truth - We can try and labour all we want, trying to build ourselves up and improve but in the end, only God knows the blueprint for our lives and therefore how to build upon the foundation He laid (the Gospel of salvation). God is the master builder, we're just here to marvel at the beauty of his work!
Never before have the words from Matthew 6:33 made more sense to me
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
There we have it friends, a 'secret' to contentment ~ now to apply it in life!
